Blakbook was at the NW Invasion tour here in Boise. We met and interacted with several of the performers such as Mack 10 and Glasses Malone. This concert was packed and super energetic. One of the most fun in quite a while. Here are some of the pics we scored. I have more on our Facebook page. Just look up Blakbook and become a fan.
The Black and White Photography of Allison Corona
Currently being featured in the Blakbook Art Gallery is a very talented photographer by the name of Allison Corona. The set of photographs here at the gallery is specifically aimed to raise awareness of the hispanic culture that we have here in Idaho with all the negative press that we've been getting as of late. We are pleased to have her artwork in our gallery and I sat down with Allison to get to know her a little bit.
Blakbook: So Allison, can you tell me a little bit about yourself?
Allison: I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California and my family moved up to Idaho Falls. I was about 15. Then we moved to Driggs, Idaho. I graduated from high school in Driggs. Now I'm here in Boise and I've been here for about 6 years. I graduated from BSU with a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a Photography emphasis.
Blakbook: What got you into photography?
Allison: In high school we had a program called "Winter Sports" with several activities like skiing and snowboarding but it had other activities and I picked photography and actually got to shoot film, develop it, and printed it in a dark room and I fell in love with it...
You can read the full interview in the upcoming issue of Blakbook Pages. Coming Soon!
Don't forget to come see Allison's photography at the Blakbook Gallery on 17th and Main down town Boise. We have prints of her art for sale on hand and you would be very please to have any one of these pieces in your home.
